FINAL BLOG POST
The Character traits of Brady in my Point of view are a little bit of everything from Heroic to afraid to angry to apologetic. Brady is literally a bit of everything throughout the book. Especially after the kiyak incident Brady feels more responsible but after he finds out about the death. After the death is when he becomes angry because he thought there was something elses he could have done. So He began doing physical labor for the Diangelos...What's left of them. And as he cleans out the garage he hinds his father's missing drill.....With red shavings on it! This is when Brady becomes angry and afraid. So throughout the book Brady changes as the story progresses.
I claim that Brady would not came clean.he through the drill in the water so no body can find it.He didnt want to be caught by his own family because if he got caught he knew that he would be in some serious trouble so he throws the drill in the water. But if he would have got caught he would of been in a lot of trouble because of what he did so yeah.

What would you say to Brady if you could say something to him
I would ask Brady if he is going to turn his friends in and what is going to happen and how he feels knowing what happened to Ben was his friends fault?
What I Would say to Brady
what I would say to brady is how was your day and did you miss your friends when they didn't talk to you? Do you listen to music?

Brady's Highschool clique
In my opinion I think that brady would be the sportier type. Not so much Football, baseball, soccer, and other high school sports but more of the athletic type I guess. Considering that he gets up early to fish and he ressusitated Mr.Diangilo without becoming fully winded/exausted. I dont think that he would turn in his work on time considering her forgets to even study for algebra.
brady would be more of a sporty person.
No brady is not as smart as an average student but he is not good at algebra at all. He failed his algebra test and he even attempted to cheat but that did not work out.
Brady does have some friends and interacts with him pretty well i mean not all the time due to him feeling guilty about the incident.

Is Brady an Strong ? or weak character?
I think that Brady would be a ? character. Why you might ask? Because so much has happend to him before. What happend to him so far? He has fallen through ice into a lake, Lost where he used to hang out with his friends, and more. and thats just what has happend before Mr.Diangelo died of pneumonia.
I rated brady as in the middle
They mostly thought they were in the middle although there was some discussion about him being strong by telling himself that Mr. Diangelo's accident was not his fault and that he shouldn't feel guilty about it.
Yes, i think brady will become stronger as the book comes to an end because his friends and family will convince him that it wasn't all his fault

What would you sat to your main character right now?
I would ask them how they felt about the red kayak being underwater beneath them, and how close he actually was to Ben. How long were you depressed about Ben's death and why were you the only one that was extremely depressed about it? How did you feel when you were depressed about Ben and why did you feel that way? How long have you known Ben? How often do you go fishing or fish with your friends? Did you have any other siblings besides your sister?
I would ask them those questions because I really want to get to know them better because the book probably didn't mention some more facts about him.

Ever since she was a little girl she had enjoyed reading and writing stories, Some of her first stories were about the barn cats who lived on the dairy farm where I grew up. she rememberers taking one of those stories into school to show her first grade teacher who put flower stickers on the cover of her book. She has been an author since 1986. Her favorite book is charlotte's web. She always loved reading it was a passion to her. She started with farm books. She wrote this book to give suspense and maybe lead to a serious that can be continued in her career.
Red Kayak
The author of the book, The Red Kayak is Priscilla Cummings Priscilla Cummings. The books that she previously wrote are...

I think that she wrote "The Red Kayak" because maybe when she was Brady's age something was going on in her life to where a family member of her's died. Maybe someone in her family drowned and she kept blaming herself for it just like Brady.

Blog post #2 What's is your books main conflict
Brady is struggling with the fact that the Red Kayak sank. He can't find the red kayak and this has made him sad and since he liked Ben the child. Our conflict is Man Vs Nature because the lake has 'ate' the Red Kayak and potentially the people died. I do not think that this will get solved without other people getting harmed I don't it will be physical harm but mental harm. They will start hurting Brady by leaving him and stuff because of the first sentence it could be his fault and he has lost his friends. On the back it says "He must decide whether or not to share his secret, when it means that his life, and the lives of his friends and family, will never be the same. This leads me to believe that harm will come mentally not physically.
The main conflict
The main conflict in the story is man vs man. I know this because they have problems with Diangelos being in a kayak accident. Because he had to save Ben from the cold. Plus he got in a argument with his friends. Then Brady had to save the boy.
Red Kayak
Brady is a caring person because in chapter four he hurried up to go save Mrs. DiAngelo. We've learned that he is in middle school and has 2 other friends that he hangs out with all the time and their names are J.T. and Digger. And we've also learned that he likes to fish/has a boat. I like the main character because to me he has a good side and a bad side to him. I like Brady because he seems a little bit like me. I think that he's mostly responsible.

How I feel about the book
I feel like the book will leave wondering what will happen next each time we end. I feel like the author is foreshadowing for the end. I also feel the characters are amazing.

What impression of your main character That I have learned so far
Brady's actions tell us he is a respectable figure. They show that by showing that he is around some what good influences and helped out babysitting a baby named Ben that shows us that he helps people out and is a good person. We have learned that he is in middle or high school probably high school. He waits at the bus stop with his friends in the morning. He doesn't have any other friends other than JT and Digger that we know about. He likes being with family, he is usually with family. I like my main character because he is some what like me in a way. He has a few main friends that we know about and then there's the other people that his friends and him hang out with. He doesn't hang around with that many people that we know about and he might just befriend some people.

Welcome!
Welcome to your Literature Circle's blog! You will be using this space to discuss and share your ideas with other Bode students reading your chosen book. Before we get started, here's a refresher on how we use our blogs at Bode!
When Posting...
- Reread your post for mistakes before you post it!
- Don't bother other peoples' posts! You are sharing this space. Don't open a post unless you are its author.
- Focus on your responses-- not fancy fonts, not cutesy pictures, not making people laugh. This is a space for you to dig into and discuss the text!
- Use images if you want, but don't use them if they are distracting. Any posts with distracting visuals will lose points when graded-- only use meaningful pictures.
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
When responding...
- Don't be a jerk when you reply to a blog post. Correcting spelling and grammar is ALWAYS off-limits-- that's not your job! Your response should be positive and supportive of your peer's writing. If you don't agree with what they are posting, that's fine! Just make sure that when you express your opinion, you do it in a way that isn't mean or insulting. Your goal is to add to a conversation-- not to shut one down. Remember! If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!
- If something isn't clear or is left untouched in the original post, ask away! Comments are a great way to suggest new blog posts or to begin a conversation.
- Don't just say "I agree" and move on-- dig into the text! Use what you already know to spark a discussion!
- Don't spoil the book for anyone!
